If a green card holder returns back within one year- why immigration officer threaten to take away his green card and refer to court that he has abandoned his US residency even if he has no criminal background.

Immigration officer at ports of entry are extremely harsh to US green card holders when they return back. They give hard time. Is it necessary to alienate them?

Green card holders work hard to bring foreign exchange for US and they pay taxes by earning after an overseas trip. Is it not time that they are treated better at airport and earn their goodwill so that they become more and more loyal to US- their homeland.

A Green card and the residency it allows is a privilege and not a right. It was not intended to be used for residence abroad and the renentry into the uS once a year. If you didnt obtain a reentry permit prior to leaving then , yes, they can revok ethe card and your status at the airport
