Re-entry Permit Question

I got GC 6 months back. I heard after 5 years we are eligible for applying
citizenship. Now i want to go to india for 15 months. I'll be applying for
Re-entry permit which will be valid for 24 months. So i should not
have any problem while returning after 15 months. Will this 15 months
included in 5 years term or will be excluded ?

To keep it simple after getting GC , should i be in US for min 60 months(5 years) to get eligible for applying citizenship ? or i can be IN and OUT of US.

You need to be in............brief absences do not affect. a reentry permit doe snot really safeguard you time for citizenship rather it serves more to safeguard your residence status so that you dont lose your green card.
