It there anyway you can help me by answer this question. What countries do the United States require Re-Enter Permit for me to re-enter back to USA?

What is your legal status? And how long are you going to stay outside the US?

I've heard that starting Jan 1 2007, any passengers that holding green card (pernament resident card) and want to travel oversea requires a what it called "Re-entry permit" (Travel document thing) to re-enter back into US. Is that true?

For example, I'm not US citizen yet and I'm still holding Alien card or pernament resident card and I want to travel to vietnam for 3 months. I was told that I need to have a re-entry permit to enter back into US. PLEASE ADVICE

I have not heard about any such rule. I am seeing lot of people from Vietnam asking us this question.
