    Nobel,

The US embassy will give you a package that you will be giving to the immigration at the port of your entry. You will get you green card by mail within 3 months. Once you have your GC in hand you can go out of US any time.

        My Consuler Process -I-130

EXPERIENCE SO FAR: On 4th Nov 2005 Filed-I-130 got Approved on July 2006.
Received Packet III - IV, separately.
On November 30th, 2006 Received letter of appointment for interview at US Consulate date: 1st Dec.2006,
I did my medical and collected all my certificates before i went on interview and submitted the documents and visa fees at VFS office Mumbai, 15 days before interview .On the interview day i was asked some personal questions, and asked for evidence of proof of some documents, the interview was only for 15 mints, the lady officer was good , before that indian officer verified my documents and asked some questions 10 mints .
Note: Due to lack of information i couldnt produce my police cerifictes from where i had been living past two years and was given letter of pending documents (police certificates) under sec.221-g which i have to produce within one year.
i started process for the Police ceritificates in the local police and passport offices, meantime my passport got expired and after getting police certifictes i applied for reissue of passport. The whole process took me three months and finally i got my new passport and police certifctes (two) and i went to VFS office on 13th April 2007 after few days wait I received my passport and package on 17th april by post, Visa stamped on my passport!!!.Just for your information...
