Probability of successfully renewing Re-entry permit

I am GC holder with a re-entry permit which is expiring in Sept 2007.

I will be visiting US to re-new my reentry permit, here are my questions:

1> What docs do i need to carry other than re-entry permit and GC to show at POE?

2> Is it recommended to file form I-131 thru a immigration lawyer?

3> What is my probability that my application will be approved. Are there docs that i need enclosed that will make my case stronger?

Any thing else i need to carry and consider when filing reentry permit.
