We (mother and father) are GC holders, have a new baby born abroad and entered the US all together. We applied at port of entry for baby's GC (transportation letter, birth certficate and sealed envelope from embassy who emited transp. letter)
The questions are:
1. which is the next procedural step:
a. we suppose only to wait for the baby's GC by mail ? Or they (USCIS) send first a case receipt by mail ?
b. they will ask for other documents (eg. parents mariage certificate) or medical examination for the baby ?
c. other step - which one ?
2. How much time passed (in your experience) until received the GC ?
3. In case of emergency (eg. family reasons) are we allowed to leave the US with the baby and then having his/her GC (sent by courier for instance) enter back in the US with the baby with no problems ?
Thank you very much !
