Filing re-entry permit

Is it ok to file a re-entry permit now even though im planning to leave on 2009? How long does it take for me to recieve the permit?

You can file reentry permit just before leaving. You don't have to wait for it to get approved.

I don't. I have to hold a proof that i have a reentry permit? because I have red that if i wanna send it to any of the us embassy outside united
states i can,what are they gonna send me back? Are you sure? I'm just making sure because i don't wanna make any mistake when i do it and of course i don't wanna loose my immigrant status here in u.s. =) and how long will they process it? if i come back here in.u.s how are they going to know that i applied for reentry or i have reentry permit? the bureau of
customs will not require me to show a proof in anyway? If im not going to wait for it to get approved then im not sure if i can come back here in
u.s if i'll be gone for not less than 2yrs,so how is that?

You can apply before leaving US and someone (friend, relative) in US can send you the papers to your country.

If i come back here in u.s befor my re entry permit expires is it ok for me to apply for another 1? Because im planning to leave as soon as possible
before the school year start in philippines. My case is,im leaving on lets say may of 2009 and im holding a reentry permit then i came back here in u.s before it expires, i will probably stay here in u.s for like a week,can i file another reentry permit? Even though i only stayed a week here in u.s?
