My daughter was born here and is US citizen but rest of my family is on GC obtained through my employment on L-1 visa. If our GC stands abandoned for any reason now or in future, is it possible for daughter to sponsor GC for her brother or us through family GC when she is 21 years old?

I read somewhere that if my or my family's GC is through employment then in future we can apply again only through the same cateogry, is this right?

She can apply for you guys when she is 21. Assuming that the congress does not pass a law to end family based immigration in the future.

Either way, it will be a good solution for the parents... but for the siblings, it would be a problem, since it would take anywhere from 14-20 years for them to get a GC through the sister.

Basic question is whether a person who abandoned employment based GC can get a GC under family immigration category in the future.
