  • Having GC is good but how good is to not married?

    Hi Folks,

I have green card since three and half years and am in USA. Recently I got engaged and my fiancee is in India. Also iam planning to get married soon.

Please tell the possile and quickest ways i can get my fiancee to USA and enjoy life.

Q1: How can I file for his VISA after marriage? Approx. how long it takes for to get green card after filing?

Q2: Can I invite him on visitor visa on my sponsorship (showing no relationship) and meantime apply for his greencard after registering marriage here?

Q2: If F/H1 were rejected for some reason, what other choices i have to brinh him to USA?

Appreciate if anyone can advise me.

    Thanks

    1. 5-7 years
    2. First, it is illegal. Second, he does not get a green card if he gets married to you in US just like that by overstaying a visitor visa. You need to be a citizen to even think about such a possibility.
    3. Depends on what his qualifications are. Rather wait for your citizenship and get married. That is the quickest way if all else fails.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

Q2 If you are married and he falsifies documents stating that you and he are are not married, he could be permanently barred for lying on a visa application.

Q3 If you are married, he does not qualify for F1.
