temporary I-551 stamp for lost green card

Hi guys,

I had lost my GC, done the I90 and now have gone for biometric appointment as well. Last week I went to my local immigration office and they stamp me with a stamp which is read as below:

The stamp is a rectangle with red ink and reads -

Upon endorsement, serves as temporary I-551 evidencing permanent recidency for one year - issue date xx-xx-xx - EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZED - valid untill xx-xx-xx


I forgot to ask the office if this stamp is valid for travel outside US and then come back??

Anybody out there has an answer to my above question please reply.

Yes. You can use the stamp to travel, work, etc.

Hi visjig,

in how many days did they call u for biometrics and stamping after u submitted the I90? did u do e filing or did u send the papers to los angeles, ca?
