Hello there!
I came to this country through my husband three years ago. In June 2007, my conditional Green Card expired so we filled the I751 form to get my permanent card. I received the letter extending my residency for a year. Then I received another letter with the appointment to take my fingerprints.
This month-June 2008- that letter expired and I had to go the immigration office to get my passport stamped. Now, I have another 1 year-extension.
My questions are:
Why is it taking so long? They have not asked me for more evidence or anything. In the USCIS website says they are attending December 07 cases which means mine should be resolved (June 07!).
Are we going to have an interview? I mean, is there ALWAYS an interview or not? I'm really nervous about this. I've heard a lot bad things!
The immigration officer who stamped my passport told me that I can apply for my citinzenship because I've been here for 3 years and Im still married. Is this true? I know is supposed to be 3 years after I get my permanent residency, but since was an immigration officer I'm not sure anymore.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME! PLEASE ADVICE ME, OR TELL ME YOUR EXPERIENCES WITH SIMILAR CASES!
