All answers I got are very pessimistic about getting form SB-1. I would rather spend that $400 on buying one way ticket and try to pass POE.
$400 for a one way ticket from Europe?

One way tickets are usually more expensive than round-trip tickets... so I think you are greatly mistaken.

Let's see from Sarajevo to New York... one way ticket on Austrian Airlines = $ 2,185.00

This is not going to work for you... just showing up at the POE...

You have no GC at this moment. Unless you are extremely lucky and manage to get a returning resident permit, you must begin the GC process from the beginning. You prior time in the US means nothing, 0, nada,...

You have been told this repeatedly. If you still do not understand the reasons and the process, get a US immigration lawyer to assist you.

The fact you have a physical card in your possession means nothing if you are outside the country long enough for the IOs to have determined that you have abandoned your permanent residency.

Your GC can be declared abandoned if you remain outside the country for 6 months + 1 day if you have done other things to demonstrate that you are no longer living, acting, working, or representing yourself as a US permanent resident.

Since you do not believe anyone here - yes I am screaming - GET A LAWYER TO EXPLAIN IT TO YOU.

Good for you, let's see when they catch it... specially if you even think of Naturalization.

I think you made a mistake not getting a returning resident permit; it is just my opinion, but I believe you had a good case to demonstrate legally that your absence was justified.

By the way, if you leave and reenter, you could still have problems. There are many reports of people entering several times before their "problem" is cought aby an IO, and they are denied entry. So you are not "home free" yet.

I still suggest you meet with an attorney.
