Green card winner but not ready to move
Hi, last week I received the stamp I-551 on my passport because I won the green card lottery. The stamp says that I have to move to U.S. before May 2009.
Actually I will be able to move to U.S. on next January but only for 2 months (until March 2009), then I will have to come back to my country to terminate an employment fixed term contract that will end on December 2009.
If I stay out of U.S from March 2009 to December 2009 and then re-enter the U.S. on January 2010 will I lose my green card?
How can I do to retain it?
