hi friends,
i will make long story short. i got a conditional gc through marriage to a US citizen. due to irreconcilable differences we got divorced. she was the one who filed for a divorce. my entry to US was on a H1B visa but she got my status adjusted because of the marriage. i have all the evidence of my marriage. it was not for a green card. it was a genuine traditional wedding. my conditional gc is valid till early next year.
what are the steps i need to take to make my conditional gc into permanent? i met 2 attorneys till now and they say to contact them when its time to remove the conditions. what does the law say about my status?
