  • I-751 and Previous Arrest

    Hello,

My husband will be renewing his green card soon for the 10-year one.
Unfortunately during this time, he had a little incident where he was arrested. Without going into too much detail, he was locked out of our apartment building and he tried to break into it to gain access. He was arrested for destruction of private property. After a few court dates, the charges were reduced down to 'disturbing the peace' where he had to pay a small fine.
We were noticing on the application for the I-751 that we are going to need to provide the information about this whole mess. I know this incident is minor and not even close to a felony, but I am starting to become worried that he will be denied because of this whole issue.
Is there anyone out there that has had something like this happen to them? Did this cause any issues in your processing?
I also did have another question, is the I-751 the only form that we have to send? Do we need to resend the affadavit of support and all that other junk again?
Any help and suggestions are greatly appreciated!

    Thank you!!!!

    Can someone answer this??

    Hello,

I was wondering if there was someone out there who could answer this question.
I just called USCIS, and they said that they could not determine if my husband would either be approved or denied based on this issue. That it would all be determined on the person processing the issue.
Does anyone know if they are looking for worse stuff like robbery, dealing cocaine, hiring someone for murder, things like that in order to approve or deny someone's request?

    Thanks!
