Sponsor may not be able to hire me in US!

Hi,

My status is I-485 pending for almost 2 years so I am expecting to receive my GC soon.
But my sponsor may not be able to hire me because of current economic situation in US. What happens if they can't hire me when I-485 approved? Can I receive my GC? I know I can take AC21 but I really want to know what happens theoretically and actually if I won't take AC21.

Any thoughts welcome.

If you don't use AC21 prior to obtaining your GC, there is a possibility for the whole GC application to be considered fraudulent and theoretically, USCIS can revoke the GC at a later stage and launch an investigation.
