  • Re-Entry Permit (I-131) mailed by USCIS but lost in the mail

My Re-Entry permit (I-131) was approved and mailed to me by USCIS (they gave the tracking number). But it was lost in the mail. I know the validity date of the Re-Entry Permit. I have the Approval Letter (Notice of Action) from USCIS specifying the approval and Validity Date of the Re-Entry Permit mailed to me by USCIS. Kindly guide me whether Airline and POE Officer will consider this approval letter in place of my lost (but actually delivered by USCIS) Re-Entry permit?

    The actual permit is required.

Of course you need to the original document to travel. A NOA shows no originality.
