First time travel after GC

We finally got a notice saying that our application for permanent residency has been approved and a card should be there in two to three week.

We were planning to travel to India in the end of this year. I had heard from someone that the first time you go to India after you get a GC, you were supposed to go to the US consulate to get the passports stamped. Is this true. If so, will we not be let in US if we do not get a VISA stamp even though we have GC.

You should just call your local embassy or go to its website.

if u have GC then you dont have to go to embassy or anywhere to stamp pp.
