Studying India after green card

Hi,
My daughter got green card recently during her 12th grade summer holidays.

I want to send to India for medicine. This could be approx 5 years.

How to maintain the green card along with the studies (medicine) in India?

What forms I need to fill an apply to USCIS to maintain her GC?

Sorry no way to stay outside US for 5 years and still maintain her Green card.

Max period during the life of the GC will be 1 time request for a max period of 2 years.

Why does she want to be a US Permenant resident if she want to live continously in India for 5 years.

You have 2 choices

1. Do a studies here in the US.
2. Complete he medicine and apply to enter the US ( They do allow doctors to come in and try for acceptance for residency... its tough).

If you want to enjoy the benefits of US PR you have to make some compromises too, it can never be best of all worlds --- thats life isn't it.

How about apply I-131 and make a vacation trips to USA for every year until she complete the education there in India?
