Received RFE for my I751 case but my wife and I did not file taxes together, what can we do?

Everything that is a possible red flag you need to justify it. Are you filing MFS? If thats the case you can say for example that both of you filed that way cause it was more beneficial in terms of credits or to pay a less amount of tax based on income etc. the key is to be honest. They cant force you to file a certain way but obviously if you are not filing mfj then they want to know why. Remember they always see cases as possible fraud but you need to proof them wrong.
