    Hi,
My parents have GC and due to my mother's health they went to India with 2 years permission. Now it is expiring next month. With the ongoing situation they are not feeling safe to travel back to USA. Is there a process we can request to extend stay in India? can we directly file in India?

    Hi,
Hope you have filed form I-131 re-entry permit while be in the USA.. Unfortunately, you can not extend re-entry permit when you are aboard. To file/extend, you will need to physically present in the United States.
The best option for you is, you will need to apply for an SB-1 visa at your nearest US consulate or embassy before returning to the USA.
    Thanks

There’s no ongoing situation in the United States. Pandemic is over and everything is almost back to normal.

hi ,I just entered on May.I entered JFK in New York,18 months outside ,no any problems. And I heard that there is no problem coming back from Los Angeles too. Due to the impact of the epidemic, the immigration policy has been relaxed since last year. But you have to come back as soon as possible, because the United States will soon open its entry in June and July. If it is later than this time, I'm afraid there will be problems with your entry. I was just asked about how long I didn't enter the country? Then he took him to a room and made a systematic inspection. Maybe he wanted to see if he had a criminal record. Then he entered the country without asking anything.
