After GC Lawyer insisting on taking a clear copy of GC? and idea why?

I hired a lawyer for (( the interview only )) for my adjustment of status to have a lawyer present in case we needed one, now after my case got approved and received the green card.


The lawyer is asking for a clear copy front and back of my green card, do you know why he would be asking for this?
I probably won’t be using his services again.

Seems like a strange request to me. We hired a lawyer to come to the interview with us and that did not come up at all. It is possible they would want to maybe file your case as complete and approved for their records. You could always ask them why if you are willing to entertain the idea of providing them with a copy of your green card. Otherwise, you may just ignore the request.

An attorney may asked for a copy as part of his file. I would recommend you ask him the question.
