  • Re-entry permit for just 1 year

Hi, I would like to ask about a re-entry permit that I applied for right after my first RP in November 2020. I waited until August 2021 for an approval of the document and then the USCIS sent a notice stating that the document was approved, but it was approved for only 1 year. After applying in November 2020 I left the USA and waited for a biometrics appointment, but the lockbox facility lost my documents and I had to write to them for months so they can do something about finding my forms. Luckily after 4 months they found them and then applied my old biometrics. In August 2021 a notice was received with the decision of approval of the documents, but for only one year. This is my second re-entry permit. I thought that the first two permits are usually given for 2 years. Previously to receiving a re-entry in 2018 (my first one) I traveled outside of the USA every year for several months, but returned to maintain my status. Do you think that it's possible that this is a mistake from USCIS to issue the document for only one year and is there something that can be done now that the document is already sent to the Embassy in the country the I am currently in? I would be thankful for any help.
