    Hi B_Andie,

For the N-400, print a copy of the application form, photocopy of GC, photocopy of valid photo ID (driver's license), current foreign passport, download USCIS Civics Test app to practice naturalization Q&A. The app is available in both OS and Android. I've managed to ace the question challenge after about 1 week

We are also preparing to bring a copy of our I-751 application form in case the interview is a dual adjudication of both the N-400 and the I-751. We plan to read the copies of these forms a week before the interview, and another pass through reading the night before the interview, to avoid missed/conflicting answers.

If you have other preparation ideas, please share.

    Cheers,
    Gaps

    Few questions for you, please:
    1) We are planning to travel. Between the day you got your interview letter and the appt, how many days do you have?
    2) if you pass your interview, but your i751 has not been approved yet...how do they proceed with your case?
    3) How many days between submitting your application and getting the invite for an interview?

    Thank you!!! Congrats again!!

Posting this update for the thread.

Our I-751 case at LIN processing center is still pending, no changes since July 2021.

But this 2022, we filed an N-400 application for naturalization as we became qualified on July 2022.

We have now received an N-400 interview scheduled for November 2022. Our local office is Seattle, WA.

So if you are still waiting for your I-751 but are already qualified for naturalization, we recommend you do it, because as you can see, the N-400 seems to get a faster response from our USCIS folks.

Any suggestions on how we can best prepare for the November interview for N-400 and possibly for the I-751 as well will be much appreciated.

    Cheers,
Maybe but does not happen to everyone. I for example applied for citizenship while 751 was pending but just the 751 got approved and N400 is stuck.

It's just that Seattle for whatever reason is moving REALLY fast. So, lucky you, congrats

They will likely do a combo interview for both forms unless somehow they issue the 10 year card before the interview. He will have to surrender his green card for citizenship.

    Hello LIN I751 Filers,

Bumping up this thread to find out if any one has any update to share?

LIN is still at 17 mos. average processing time, and it is likely some of you are like us who have now sent our N400 application while the I-751 is pending,

We figured why not, if LIN proves to be truly a 17 month wait, we would save a 5 month wait, by going forward with N-400 naturalization, because our local office is processing N400s at only 12 months.

    Cheers,

    Hi B_Andie,

Today we did file our N400. But it took us about 3 days to complete the application as we wanted to front load all the documents that the online form required.
So for those applying from a pending ROC status (on AOS, marriage to US citizen spouse), the N400 form is self-explanatory, but again be ready for the documents that need to be uploaded:

    - Past 3 years IRS documents showing you have filed/paid tax

    - Passport scan of your U.S. citizen spouse

    - Joint financial documents, bank accounts, credit cards

    - Insurance documents, life, property, auto

    - Other evidence

For the tax documents I only scanned my 1040 returns for 2021, 2020, and 2019, I plan to get tax transcripts for myself and my spouse at a later date when an interview is scheduled, because that's when you'll possibly need it (in this regard, consider signing up an ID.me + IRS account so you can request transcripts online).

For the joint financial documents we scanned a selection of joint bank account statements, 3 months for 2022 (June, May, April), 2021 (July, June, May), 2020 (July, June, May), 2019 (July, June, May), 2018 (July, June, May) - note we scanned these and uploaded as one file - we assumed that we had to show joint financial documents since marriage.

We also scanned credit cards, FSA cards, health insurance cards, and uploaded as one file.

The only other evidence we uploaded is a selection of photographs from date of marriage to about last month when we had a wedding in the family.

The confirmation of application fee payment was immediate by email.

USCIS confirmation of receipt of application still to come.

Our local office is in Seattle, WA.

    Cheers,

    G&A
