I'm planning to apply for a re-entry permit because I want to move to Europe to work temporarily. I know that the permit is usually valid for 2 years only, so I'm a bit concerned about my chances of being able to get a second reentry permit.
Does anybody know what the process for getting a second permit is? Would I need to come back to the US before my first one expires, then wait until it does expire, and then apply for a second I-131? Or is it possible to have overlapping I-131s?
Understanding the chances and process of getting to I-131s in a row would really help me with some life planning. In the worst case scenario, I'd probably be ok just living in Europe for only 2 years, but I ideally would really want to make it last a bit longer.
