Query regarding reentry permit

Hi,

I am a permanent US resident. I have a valid reentry permit upto july 18,2010. I entered US on 15 May 2010 and the entry to the US was made in the currently valid reentry permit. I am willing to apply for another reentry permit as I have to return to my country after about a month. Should I send my my currently valid reentry permit to the uscis before applying for a new one? If yes how will i keep the record of having entered US as no entry has been made in the passport?

You don't have to send the current reentry permit with the application of the new one.
