Hi,
I've had my Greencard since 2002 and it will expire in January 2012. I'm planning to live abroad for one year starting from March 2011, which means by the time I come back to the US in April 2012 my Greencard will be expired.
I understand that you can acquire a re-entry permit if you will be away for more than 6 months, but is it possible to renew my Greencard while I'm abroad? What would be the best way to handle this? If you have any suggestions i'll really really appreciate it. Thank you!
