I have a green card but have not been back since 2018- for personal reasons and also Covid. (have doctor certificates and all necessary documentation to prove)
Trying to find the best way, or seeing if this is even possible to re-enter.
I would really like to return in June. I know my absence of this period, means I have technically abandoned my green card, so I applied for a visa waver, and was denied.
I am stuck in limbo as I have not abandoned my green card but can not enter with a Visa waver.
Can anyone recommend or advise on any appropriate visa I may be able to obtain. Even if this is a temporary solution.
My husband has a current green card and has been living/fulfilling his requirements.
Is it possible to gain entry though his green card? or would this association place him in a precarious situation?
If so, he could potentially travel with me to the US from Australia.
From my understanding filing a re entry document would not happen in time. I am trying to understand if there are any other options?
