I am still waiting for my I-751. I received the I-797 in the mail saying that the notice serves as a 24-month extension of my green card. But I have seen stories where people get entry denied. How is your experience?

Yes. Spouse and I just returned from vacation abroad last week. When returning and passing through passport control in the USA, she presented her expired green card and i-797 extension letter, and everything was just fine. -
