  • Green Card Renewal Taking LONG TIME !

I have ben waiting for green card renewal for last 15 months. I have contacted USCIS and they said that it is being processed etc etc.
I want to if there are others in same mess.
How long is it taking USCIS Potomac center to process green cards?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you in advance.

It seems that lots of people are waiting that long for green card renewal these days. Of course, your status is not affected by the card's expiration. If you really need proof of permanent residency for something, you can get an I-551 stamp.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.

I just checked processing time for potomac center, unfortunately normal processing times is averaging 23.5months. That means you are still under the normal process. Get a i551 stamp if you need if for travel or work. I got mine and it was a very smooth process. Luckily, I got my greencard a week ago.

took me 10months. Very lucky California Service Center moves quicker than others. But I did wait 21months for my adjustment of status. So I can say it was a fair game.

I have been waiting for more than 16 months. It's taking really long time at Potomac Service Center. Looks like there is only one person is working on I751 cases. Its is frustrating sometime.
