Hi,

I have a question and I hope someone can help me with it.

I got my green card through my employer ( Employment-Based GC) in 2019. I know I have to wait 5 years till I apply for naturalization. In 2020, I got married to my girlfriend ( U.S citizen ), so my questions are :

1- Do I have to fill a form or report my marriage to USCIS?

2-Do I still need to wait 5 years to apply for citizenship or marriage will drop it down automatically to 3 years?

3- If it drops down to 3 years due marriage, do they start counting these 3 years from the day I got married or they count starting from the day I received my employment-based GC?

Your 3 years start from the day you were married viz., at the time of filing for naturalization you should have been married for 3 yrs., atleast, to a US citizen.
