Reapplying for I-131 with Pending Application (Expected Denial)

Hi Everyone,

I am an LPR (since Jan/2020) seeking guidance to reapply for a re-entry permit (I-131).

Background:

• I left the U.S. in June/2021.
• Current re-entry permit valid until May/2024.
• Applied for a new permit in Aug/2023 but left the U.S. before the receipt date on record** (biometrics done).
• **Just learned that my application will likely be denied because of that. Confirmation probably in 2025 due to processing times.
• I plan to return to the U.S. in May/2024 for a new application and stay until the biometrics are done.

Questions:

1. Could my May/2024 application be denied by the USCIS if I applied while the Aug/2023 one was still in progress?
2. Any tips to increase acceptance odds for my May/2024 application?
