Returning Resident's visa (alternative to I-131 RP)

I recently got my Green Card and am thinking of applying for I-131.

Does anyone have experience with Returning Resident's visa? I believe this is an alternative to I-131 Re-entry permit, which we can get from the local consulate in our area.

Wondering if I should go with this instead of Re-entry Permit.

Any thoughts???

That is not an alternative the way you described.

You need to apply for re-entry permit.
