    Greencard to citizenship

    Hi,

    I have been a Green card holder for 9+ years (Indian passport) working for the same company that applied for my GC. In another 9 months it will be 5 years of holding GC. Question is if I quit my company now (I have a business of my own) will I have a problem with getting my citizenship? I work for the state government. Would it be better to hang on to the job until I get the citizenship? I have clean records.

    There is no problem. You can leave your job at any time now.

    You don't have to wait until you get your US citizenship.

      Work and citizenship are not related. You can quit the job anytime without worrying about your citizenship.
