Thanks in advance for your time. I am a citizen spouse (green card received after 6 years of marriage), green card expiring in less than three months. Needed to figure out my best option based on the time crunch - apply for citizenship or renew green card?

I would like you to be clear, please, how long is your Green Card period ( 2 or 10 years)?

If it is a ten-year green card, you have to renew it before applying for citizenship. Per the law, if there are less than 6 months for the green card to expire, you have to renew the card before applying for citizenship.
