  • Not being able to meet Greencard requirements

I have been issued and still have a valid Greencard (2008). I have been following all the laws regarding the imigration laws but recently my plans have changed. I am now gonna be out of the USA for over 2years and have applied for the Reentry permit. I just wanted to know, Is it possible to suspend my greencard for a few years untill i plan on moving back to the USA. Or return the Greencard and reapply when my cercumstance enables me to return to the USA. i don't want the card removed and then never have the oportunity to return the the USA.

I just need some information on what the process are if i know i will not be able to meet the requirements.

Why do you want to return your green card? Since you have a re-entry permit, it is good for 2 years. You can return to the U.S. to file another application. Generally, you can spend almost six years outside of the U.S. and retain a Reentry Permit.
