hi, i am a conditional permanent resident in USA and i got this status through my husband who is a citizen.my conditional status was valid for 2 years ,but before my greencard expired i lost it.i went to local uscis office and the officer told me that since my card was going to expire in a few months i should file I751 to remove conditional status so that i can get a new valid card.few days back i received a notice from nebraska center where i filed my I751 that my green card has been extended for 1 year while they are processing my application.i took the notice to the uscis office to get my passport stamped.the officer there stamped my passport with the I551 stamp but she scratched the top line of the stamp that had the stamp number,so that now i only have a stamp saying my A number and a valid date and stating that this is temporary evidence of my permanent residence in USA.IS THIS STAMP ENOUGH FOR TRAVELLING TO INDIA ?WILL I HAVE PROBLEMS WHILE RE ENTERING USA?.I AM GOING FOR 2 MONTHS AND WILL COME BACK WITHIN THE VALIDITY OF THE STAMP.Do i need to take any other documents with me?i called uscis customer service center ,they said stamp is enough but i am worried since they scratched the top line of the stamp.please tell me is stamp and the notice from ins enough for re entering USA AS I DON'T HAVE THE PLASTIC CARD YET .THANKS AND GOD BLESS.
