Hi-
I have had a GC since July 2002. It was stolen (along with my wallet) in Feb 2003. I have applied for a replacement (I-90) and have gotten a receipt in July 2003. I have a I-551 stamp in my passport.
I am planning to go to Europe for exactly 12 months to get my MBA. In the 12 months, I plan to make 2 trips back to the US to visit friends.
I am wondering if I should apply for a re-entry permit?
I will be back atleast once every 6 months but only for a 1-2 weeks at a time. But I don't know if that counts since the period is too short to show that I am still "residing in the US".
I do not want to have any problems with the BCIS officers at the airport.
Please advise.
