Please guide - Child born overseas to Permanent resident

Me and my wife are Indian nationals. We are legal permanent residents in the US. While in India, my wife has given birth to a child.

How can my child come to United States? How can my child become a permanent resident in the US?

Hi Joe,

Your link explains my first question - "How can my child come to United States?". My child can come to the US without any visa (under some conditions).

However, my second question remains - "How can my child become a permanent resident in the US?". Do I have to apply seperately for the child's permanent residency (through the family based green card), or is there a faster alternative?

That was somewhat implicit in the answer. The child becomes a PR at entry, just like everybody with an immigrant visa would.
