Keep spouse's maiden name after GC?

Hi, It seems to change maiden name to married name is a long and involved process, especially after one has received their GC. It appears that a change in name from maiden to married may take upto a year. Is there a problem if the maiden name is kept on INS matters such as GC and Social Security, but the married name is kept on the driver's license? Or should one be consistent and keep either the maiden or married name only?

Make Sure all documents match. The name on the green card should be the same as the name on the drivers licence, Passport, Social Security, tax forms etc...

Before 9/11 things were different but in the current climate everything should match up - otherwise you are instantly considered a potential terrorist.
