Hi all,
I have transfered $50k to india in 2012. I did not inform IRS about it. Do i need to Inform IRS about that transfer? My husband expired last year and i got that amount from his employer as a survivor's benefit. Its already tax paid. I am planning to settle in India and my status is 485 pending. I have already been in India since January 2013, so my status will be cancelled in the next 4 months and my AP expires in September 2013. I have already filed my federal and state taxes and reported FBAR also to IRS (for 2012). So, Do i need to Inform IRS about that $50k transfer? I transfered it to my NRE Account. Will there be any problem in not reporting that transfer to IRS?
