question about traveling abroad?

we are going to travel to thailand, my mother is not a citizen she has a gc and a white passport (to what i understand this allows you to enter back into the USA), we already bought our flight tickets so what does she need to do now? can she travel alone with just the gc and white passport? They traveled before and she said that once you recieve the plane tickets you have to go and do some paperwork before you can leave? I have never travel before so can someone help me???

What she has is enough to travel, Greencard and reentry permit(what you are calling White Passport).
