Hi All,
We have applied for an OCI for US born Indian origin kid while we were in USA. However, OCI was taking forever due to pandemic, hence we entered India through Emergency visa which only has 6 months validity.
We eventually got the OCI delivered at USA address and my friends brought to India and it is with us now. Is there a way that we can convert our kid's immigration status from Visa (which is about to expire in a month) to OCI?
Reached out to FRRO - They are asking us to go out of the country and re-enter through OCI which is impossible for my family right now.
Any help is appreciated.
