  • Kind Attn: Antonyall (Canada Immigration)

    Hi,

I am working in US on H1 visa. I want to apply for the canadian immigration from US, as it takes long time to get green card and US citizenship.

So the ques is do i need to stay in canada, once I get the canadian immigration. Actually I would not like to leave US if my green card is in process but at the same time I want to keep canadian PR.

    Thanks in advance.

    Monika

The following is as stipulated from the Canadian website!!!

You must meet the residency obligation to obtain a Permanent Resident Card. If you have been a permanent resident for five years or more: you must have been physically present in Canada for a minimum of 730 days within the past five years. If you have been a permanent resident for less than five years: you must show that you will be able to meet the minimum 730 days in Canada at the five-year mark.

Best wishes to you in your obvious success!
