activate canada PR visa

I am in Toronto. I am expecting my passport with PR visa from Buffalo office at anytime. I am planning to go to Niagara to get the visa stamped. However I do not have the US visa and it takes at least 2 months. I want to activate my PR visa before that.
I heard that I can still go to the Niagara border and threre is a regular procedure to get my PR visa stamped? Is that true? did anyone experience that/heard of that before?

Pr Card

Pls advise I am staying in India will come to canada to issue my PR card but problem is that I can not stay in Canada for 2 to 3 months as 2 to 3 months leaves is difficult for me from my office in India.
Is there any shortage or easy way to get my PR in few days after reaching Canada I have US visa also I can Visit Us any time.
