Need Advise/Help

One of my friend had an major car accident and there were around 8 people in the car but the sad is, he lost his wife in that car accident. it happend around 3 yr ago. He was driving that car during that accident. No Alcohol,drugs involded, No Arrest,No tickets issued at that time to him by cops. all the passenger were hospitalized.

In the above situation,

1.would He be arrested anytime now in future for any reason?
2.what would be case status by the time? is it open still or closed by default?
3.is he needed to followup anything to know abt the case ?
4.is this impact his life any way like job,criminal records or background checks & US Stay etc?
5.is any one/parents of his wife can take action against him as criminal or in any way?
6. is there any preventive action required to him in this ?

1. No, why? Unless they uncover new information. Also look at statute of limitations for a crime in your state.
2. ???. You have to ask the PD. They can leave any case open for however long they wish to.
