Guys, my I-485 is pending coz as you all know the dates have underwent retrogression.
I got my EAD/AP combo card somewhere in May and it expires May 2013.
My H1B visa expires September 2014, so there's longer time there.
I have no plans of severing ties with my employer as everything is going great and it looks like it will continue so.
The reason why I haven't switched to EAD is tha there's longer period on the visa and it's safe to be on H1B should something go wrong with I-485 and they have to appeal to USCIS.
But my friends and other people are telling me that there is absolutely no harm in switching to EAD with my employer (as it gives the flexibility to even switch employers if needed) and letting go of the visa.
So I need your insight. What is the best practice? Should I go on EAD already or should I wait till May when I will get the EAD/AP renewed.
Question 2: Will my not using the EAD impact it in any way?
Question 3: When EAD is up for renewal, do I have to submit proof of employment??
Thank you guys
Looking forward to the responses.
