Hi, quick question. I filed for my AP on May 24, 2018 and i will be going on a cruise in december. I haven't been approved for my AP but I'm wondering if you guys know what i'll need to go on this cruise. I should have my AP by then but just incase I want to get prepared. My wife, who's a US citizen is saying for her to take a cruise all she needs is her birth certificate.

Is the cruise leaving the US? In other words, is it stopping at a port of another country? If so, you will both need to bring a passport with you. Even if not, I would probably recommend that you both bring a passport anyway, just in case. You would also need to bring your AP approval. I?d probably also travel with all my AOS documents anyway.Marriage-based AOS - Concurrent filing - Oakland Park, FL

Yes, the cruise ship is leaving from Mobile, Alabama and going to Mexico. Americans only need a birth certificate so that's why I was confused. I will bring my Passport, Birth Certificate and AOS documents.Originally posted by cptfll View PostIs the cruise leaving the US? In other words, is it stopping at a port of another country? I am not sure whether the cruise counts as leaving the US. But hopefully (and probably) you will get your AP by December because if you leave the US while AOS is pending before your AP is approved, and you are not in H or L work status, you automatically abandon AOS.Originally posted by MicaAshani View PostHi, quick question.
