EAD - Should it be online or by Post

Hi Guys
I will be applying for my wife's EAD (she is on L2)
Please help me with the following query:-
a) Should I apply online. If yes, then what will be the next procedures ?
b) Should I apply by Post. If yes, then what will be the next procedures ?

I applied online for my EAD renewal and printed the forms for my records.

I received a fast response asking for finger printing and almost in a month we received our EAD.
