  • I-131 question to Praetorian

    Hi Praetorian,

Can I travel outside from the country if I can have my conditional green card without applying for I-131 or Advance Parole? And how long could I stay outside the country? I'm confused with this.
Thank you so much for your help and info.

YE GC lets you work and travel freely, the consition is regarding the marriage, once you prove trhat your marriage was bonafide the consition goes away, in all respects the GC is the same.

You can travel for less than 1 year. With your conditional Green Card.

If you need to travel more than 1 year, but less than two, apply for a re-entry permit (i-131).

Keep in mind, that a trip of more than 6 months is likely to break your "continuous residency" for naturalization purposes.
